Mr Welham

The next occupier of Sparrowe’s Nest was a Mr. Welham, this is probably the John Welham, farmer who was given notice to quit, together with other tenants, of his farm at Haughley at Michaelmas 1812 when the freeholds were offered for sale by the ‘manor of Haughley.’ Welham did not stay long as the Ipswich Journal of 20 September 1817 announces the sale of his household and farming stock and he moved on to Little Stonham. He sold up at Little Stonham in 1827.
